About BBSM

BBSM Ltd was formed in September 2019 by Robin Cotton, Adrian Ham and Simon Hayes with over 50 years of experience between them within the biomass heating sector in the UK. Prior to working in the biomass sector, the directors worked in experimental engineering, controls and electronics and M&E contracting.

We offer a specialist service, maintenance and installation for commercial and industrial biomass boilers. Our currently have a customer base of over 400 biomass boiler systems with a total capacity of c.160MW, with individual boilers ranging from 25kW to 5MW power output. Customers include schools, leisure centres, hotels through to large scale industrial projects.

  • Lead installer of new biomass boiler systems in the UK.
  • Build a portfolio of funded biomass boiler systems under Energy Supply Contracts.
  • Develop R&D and implement new sustainable energy technologies including power generation, energy storage and specific applications in drying technology.

Training and Accreditation

  • HETAS MCS040 registered. 18 engineers HETAS MCS040 accredited.
  • Accredited under Construction Line.
  • Strong culture of training – in-house cross training engineers on specific boiler makes.
  • In-house cross training on mechanical, electrical and controls.
  • Investment in boiler-specific factory training.
  • Investment in skills training:
    • Coded welders on staff
    • F-gas accredited engineers
    • 18th Edition Electrical
    • Steam Experience working towards BOAS.
    • Vital Skills training, IPAF and PASMA for mobile towers and motorised access equipment

Our Accreditations

Whole Market Biomass Solutions

BBSM service nearly all of the commercial and industrial biomass boilers currently installed in the UKincluding Hargassner, Binder, Fröling, Herz, ETA, Polytechnik, Mawera,  Viessmann, Uniconfort, Justsen and Compte-R.

We have a large amount of stock of critical biomass boiler spares to support the engineering and service function. This all helps to provide an efficient and timely maintenance and repair service for our customers across the UK.
