BBSM Delivers Quality and Experience

BBSM is a broad and experienced team based across the UK. Our team is led by Robin Cotton and Adrian Ham with over 40 years’ joint experience in the biomass heating sector.

We have a team of 18 HETAS MCS040 accredited engineers covering the UK from across the sector with collective expertise of most makes of biomass boilers.

Our customer management team is based at our head office in Tiverton. This includes our dedicated Customer Account Managers who play a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless and personalized experience for our clients.

Robin Cotton | Managing Director

25 years of experience in the commercial and industrial biomass heating sector being involved with over 500 projects ranging from 50kW to 5MW. Robin has a doctorate in experimental physics from Oxford University and a masters in renewable energy technology from CREST Loughborough University,

Adrian Ham | Technical Director

Adrian is a time served electrical engineer with over 35 years' experience in industrial engineering, heating, automation, and management including 17 years as a biomass commissioning and controls engineer. Adrian directs and manages the technical and design team at BBSM.

Stephanie Cotton | General Manager

Following her degree in Business and German, Stephanie worked in Europe for several years before returning to the UK. She has worked for various businesses over a 30-year period, dealing with the European market before moving into the renewable energy sector. Stephanie has now been part of the senior management team at BBSM for over 4 years.

Sam Reed | Finance Manager

Chartered Accountant with ICAS. Trained with E&Y in their audit practice before moving to corporate finance. Moved into industry managing the finances for a large Southwest agricultural firm before returning to practice providing services to growing client businesses.

BBSM has a well-rounded team of professionals all working to provide a proficient customer experience. Our staff are available to assist your specific needs at every stage of the process, be it boiler servicing, project design, new installation, consultancy, or remedial work. Expertly directed by the senior management team, the organisation is sub-divided into the departments, each boasting extensive industry experience to ensure we can assist with any issue or request you have about your biomass boiler system.

Hands on management team led by Robin Cotton and Adrian Ham with 25 and 17 years’ experience respectively in the biomass heating sector.
Proven project management function successfully delivering turn-key projects under CDM.
In-house system design including 2D and 3D CAD, BMS controls.
Extensive industry experience and knowledge of RHI – BBSM currently owns and operates a portfolio of biomass boiler systems generating income on RHI and can support interested parties in achieving the same.

BBSM has brought together a team of experienced engineers from across the biomass heating sector with collective expertise with most makes of biomass boiler system including Binder, Hargassner, Fröling, Herz, ETA, Justsen, Uniconfort, CST Fire and many more.
Team of 18 engineers geographically spread across England, Wales and Scotland to ensure we are within close proximity to any emergency call out or planned work.
Highly qualified technical staff who are available for remote support following a service or planned work who can for example design BMS control systems or bespoke boiler solutions.
Our team includes specialists in high temperature hot water boilers, steam and WID compliant boilers.
Experience on emissions monitoring and emissions abatement from a wide range of projects.
Experience on ORC CHP generators.
Close relationships with proven sub-contractors which provides BBSM Ltd with an agile and robust supply chain to support our clients with immediate responses for parts required.

Our dedicated Customer Account Managers (CAMs) play a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless and personalised experience for our clients. By serving as the primary point of contact, they not only facilitate clear communication but also oversee the delivery of professional projects and servicing.
This relationship allows us to gain invaluable insights into our clients' unique needs and preferences, allowing us to tailor our services effectively. This proactive engagement not only builds trust but also enables us to anticipate and exceed expectations, ensuring the longevity and optimal performance of our clients' biomass boiler systems.
CAMs are responsible for scheduling in services and any remedial works required and are the first point of call for any emergency callouts. The CAM is responsible for quoting, invoicing, requesting parts and materials via our warehouse team and scheduling engineers to attend site.

Public sector customer
BBSM installed the first of our biomass boilers in 2021. We found the company to be very reliable, trustworthy, and they worked efficiently and to a high standard. Based on our experience, we asked BBSM to install our second, and then our third biomass boiler system.

Industrial customer
BBSM's team responded with flexibility and with great professionalism when the scope of the project had to be amended due to circumstances outside of their control, and always demonstrated a solutions led approach.
We could not be happier with the outcome of the project. The new boiler is delivering significant fuel savings and takes considerably less time from our on site team to maintain. In fact, the project has been so successful we have subsequently contracted BBSM to extend the biomass system to provide hot water to a block of holiday apartments on the same site. I would be happy to recommend BBSM unconditionally.
